Donald W. "Skip" Hoovler
Financial Advisor
Skip started out in this business in 1968 with the encouragement of his late uncle Jerry Hoovler. He was teaching high school and coaching football. He began by selling insurance with the Tice Agency. Skip branched out on his own in 1984 forming Hoovler Financial & Insurance Services. During his 40+ years in the industry, Skip has helped individuals as well as businesses with asset management, estate and business planning, pension planning, and employee benefits.
Skip graduated in 1965 from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science in English. He also played football for four years at Ohio University where he was named an AP All American linebacker and elected to the Ohio Athletic Hall of Fame (1968). Right after graduating from Ohio, he married his high school sweetheart, Tammy, and they have been married for over 50 years. They have three children and eight grandchildren.
One of Skip & Tammy’s loves, next to their grandkids of course, are their harness horses. Skip has been involved as a breeder-owner of harness horses for close to 50 years. He has held many positions and been on many committees with the Ohio Harness Horsemen Association and the United States Trotting Association (where he continues to be a District 1 Director.)
